Who makes Tuneping

I'm Victor. I build Tuneping on my own: the crawler, the API, this site and the support mailbox. It grew out of Tapelark, my Mac recorder for radio and streams, which needed to know what stations were playing; the index turned out to be useful to more people than one app.

Other things I make:

• Tapelark: keeps what your Mac plays as ordinary audio files in a library of your own, like recording to tape used to.
• Codorex: kids describe a game in their own words and AI makes it playable in moments. For ages 7 and up.
• SNEOS: send one prompt to six AI models and compare the answers side by side.
• Career.Coffee: the professional network for specialty coffee, from baristas and roasters to Q graders.
• plain: the open-source, Git-native CMS this site runs on.

Hosting

The API and the crawler run on a server rented from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany, located in Falkenstein, Germany. The website is delivered, and the API fronted, by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. E-mail to the addresses above is routed by Cloudflare to our mailbox.

Data sources and attribution

Station directory data from radio-browser.info, released CC0. Music metadata matched against MusicBrainz (CC0 core data). Titles shown by Tuneping are the text each station publishes in its own stream metadata; Tuneping stores and relays no audio. Plays are detected from station metadata and are not certified airplay monitoring.

Trademarks

Station names, programme names and song titles belong to their respective owners and are shown for identification only. Tapelark is a product of the same operator.

Dispute resolution
